Registration of small-size watercraft previously not registered in Latvia

Documents to be submitted to CSDD for the registration of a small-size watercraft:

  • note concerning the verification of the numbered components in case of jetski, cutter or motorboat. This document is issued by the employee of CSDD when the watercraft is presented to the branch office of CSDD (4.90 euro) or to the said employee at the location of the watercraft. In the latter case a person needs to contact the branch office of CSDD covering particular location in order to set the date and receive information about the price of this service (in Riga call +371 67025769). This note is not necessary when the applicant submits the document issued by the authorised representative of the manufacturer containing technical data of the watercraft and the document proving the ownership – transfer note;
  • for the watercraft previously registered abroad – foreign registration certificate of the watercraft. The document attesting that the watercraft has been written off or is not renewable is not considered as registration document. For the new, previously not registered watercraft – document issued by the manufacturer of the watercraft or its authorised representative and attesting technical data and origin. In case of registration of a self-made motorboat or cutter exceeding eight meters in length and intended for use with built-in engine the document issued by the Maritime Administration of Latvia and attesting the technical data of the watercraft. For other watercrafts manufactured in Latvia no document of origin is necessary;
  • document proving the right of ownership issued abroad or in the Customs zone, or the contract certified by sworn notary or by another person according to Article 1474 of Civil Law. This document may be not submitted, if transfer note issued by the authorised representative of the manufacturer of the watercraft is submitted, or the watercraft is registered in the name of the owner indicated in the registration certificate of the watercraft issued abroad;
  • document proving that the watercraft has been imported into the European Union from the country outside the community in accordance with the pertinent requirements (Customs declaration), except when the watercraft is imported from the Member State of the EU;
  • dentification document of the applicant (passport, driving licence issued in Latvia or driving learning permit issued in Latvia). For the registration of the watercraft, the owner of the watercraft or his/her authorised person can apply;
  • copy of the document proving the status of the legal person, presenting the original, when the owner of the watercraft is a legal person. The document may be not submitted when the legal person is registered in the Register of Enterprises or when the legal status of it is determined in law;
  • document proving payment of state register fee (for a jetski – 7.11 euro, for a cutter – 14.23 euro, for a motorboat – 4.27euro, for the row-boat – 1.42 euro). If paid at CSDD commission in amount of euro 1.20 applies;
  • document proving payment for registration, registration certificate and number plates (23.51 euro).

Nota bene!
