Deregistration of a vehicle for export from Latvia

Documents to be submitted to CSDD for the deregistration of a vehicle for export from Latvia:

  • registration certificate of the vehicle;
  • registration umber plate(-s) of the vehicle;
  • identification document of the applicant (passport, driving licence issued in Latvia or driving learning permit issued in Latvia). For the deregistration, only owner or his/her authorised person can apply;
  • document proving payment of vehicle use tax for the previous period including the month of deregistration (if paid at CSDD commission in amount of euro 1.20 applies). This tax is not due, if there is information in the register that it has been already paid, or it is not applicable in accordance with applicable law;
  • document proving payment of company car tax (if paid at CSDD commission in amount of euro 1.20 applies). This tax is not due, if there is information in the register that it has been already paid, or it is not applicable in accordance with applicable law;
  • document proving payment for the deregistration of the vehicle (euro 3.02).

Nota bene!

When the vehicle is deregistered for export from Latvia the entry „Deregistered for export from Latvia” („Noņemts no uzskaites izvešanai no LR”) is made in the section „Note concerning the deregistration of the vehicle” („Atzīme par transportlīdzekļa noņemšanu no uzskaites”) of the registration certificate.

In order to use such a vehicle in traffic, transit number plates must be acquired (see also „Acquiring transit number plates”).
